This past weekend, Mitch and I went up north with some of our great friends and explored the MN north shore! It was our first time exploring the shore of Lake Superior and it was such a great trip. I honestly had no idea how naturally beautiful this part of Minnesota is! We spent some time in Duluth and made it as far north as Lutsen, MN. Larsmont Cottages in Two Harbors, MN was the perfect hotel / resort for our 3 day trip and here’s why!
Great location to explore mn north shore
Larsmont Cottages is conveniently located:
- 22 miles north of Duluth
- 38 miles south of Tettegouche State Park
- 71 miles south of Lutsen
Nice and cozy rooms
We stayed in a beautiful Lake Side Suite + Guest Room. This two bedroom suite is perfect for two couples or a family!
The view of Lake Superior from the balcony and through the gaping windows, with the sound of the waves crashing into the shore make for a relaxing stay.
And the fireplace makes the suite even more cozy. Since we had a lot to explore we didn’t spend too much time in our suite, but plan to come back and enjoy again!
Note that the guest room does not have a lake view. So you’ll likely want to spend most of the time in the master suite room as it has the incredible views, balcony, fireplace, and kitchenette!
Larsmont Cottages property & views
Larsmont Cottages has 1,300 feet of beautiful Lake Superior shore line! Along the coast is a walk path and several fire pits maintained by the staff throughout the night. I’m so glad we spent one night enjoying a warm fire on the resort! We ordered pizza and spent all night by the fire, even roasting smores!
Our last morning up north, Mitch and I took a short walk along the property shore line. We sat on the rocks for awhile, watching the waves roll in and feeling immersed in the morning great lake breeze.
Our trip to the North Shore of Minnesota was incredible and Larsmont Cottages was the perfect home base!
