As we get further into the fall season temperatures are dropping quickly, but many people are still hoping to extend patio season as long as possible due to COVID-19. In Minnesota the Fall can be pretty cold, but lots of restaurants are doing their best to extend the season longer by adding heaters on their patios. I’ve put together a list of all the restaurants I know of in Minneapolis & surrounding areas that have outdoor dining options with heaters (or fireplaces) to help add a little warmth to your dining experience!

Keep in mind heaters may not be near every table / amount of heat will vary.
This is a really difficult time for restaurants right now and I hope this list helps you continue to support local businesses & continue to enjoy patio season awhile longer! I think us Minnesotans can handle a little cold! I personally have brought a small blanket to outdoor reservations as well to keep warm – highly recommend!
I called many of these restaurants & included details on the heater situation below if the restaurant provided any specifics. Before you go, make sure to check the restaurants website or call ahead to confirm their patio is still open for the season.
Minneapolis Restaurants with Outdoor Seating & Heaters
Smack Shack
603 N Washington Ave Minneapolis, MN

Smack Shack has several heaters on their gorgeous, covered patio complete with string lights!

Nolo’s
515 N Washington Ave #100 Minneapolis, MN
Nolo’s has a temporary tent-covered patio with several heaters!

Spoon & Stable
211 N 1st St Minneapolis, MN

Spoon & Stable’s temporary outdoor dining tables on the sidewalk have heaters near every table! They also have a few blankets on hand in case you need some extra warmth. I chose to bring my own small blanket to brunch this weekend 🙂

Freehouse
701 N Washington Ave #101 Minneapolis, MN
Freehouse has 2 fireplaces in their outdoor patio so you could get lucky and get placed near 1 of the 2! However, they do not currently have additional heaters.

Bellecour Bakery (new location in the North Loop)
210 N 1st St Minneapolis, MN
I went to Bellecour Bakery this weekend at their new location in Cooks of Crocus Hill located in the North Loop neighborhood. There were several bistro table & chairs on the sidewalk and at least a couple heaters. We were lucky to grab a table right near one of them! Note: I think Bellecour & Spoon and Stable share the heaters since they share same the owner and are now across the street from one another. So, if the Spoon & Stable patio is open – Bellecour may not have the heaters out.

Red Cow
208 N 1st Ave Minneapolis, MN

Red Cow in the North Loop has 2 heaters on their patio!

Colita
5400 Penn Ave S Minneapolis, MN

Martina

Broders’ Pasta Bar
5000 Penn Ave S Minneapolis, MN

Eat Street Social
18 W 26th St Minneapolis, MN

Centro
1414 Quincy St NE Minneapolis, MN

Hai Hai
2121 University Ave NE Minneapolis, MN

A portion of the patio has heaters!

The Block (St. Louis Park)
7007 Walker St St Louis Park MN
The Block’s regular patio that is covered has a fireplace and is pretty cozy. While the tented area does not yet have heaters I was told they will be getting some soon!

If you notice any restaurants that should be added to this list let me know in the comments! Many of the restaurants I spoke with that didn’t have heaters said there were plans to get them. Thanks for reading!

I passed by Handsome Hog the other day and they had a good amount of heaters-looked like a really nice patio!
Awesome – thanks for sharing Maddy! I’ve never been to Handsome Hog – I’ll have to check it out! 🙂
This is a great list. Jason DeRosa has a really good list as well that is still being added to. Erte also has heaters, we were there Friday, food is amazing!
